Belhaven

David Goodwin has been an Area Manager within Belhaven Leased Pubs since January 2006 and covers Central Scotland. Having worked in North West England for S&N as a Business Development Manager since 1998, when David and his family decided to head north his first point of contact was the Director of Leased Pubs for Belhaven, Alan Keir:

"I knew Alan from his time at S&N and I thought, when the time came to return to Scotland, there might be an opportunity with Belhaven."

Luckily for David Belhaven was, and still is, expanding the Leased estate and an additional role was created in Central Scotland.

Before coming into the pub trade David worked for an energy consultancy but had kept an interest in the pub trade since his student days in Dundee where he worked in bars, in what he considers a 'fast moving, good fun and challenging environment'.

Since becoming an Area Manager in the pub trade David has remained in the leased side of the business, because, as he says;

"I enjoy dealing with self employed business people who are running their own businesses and have their own goals, ideas and challenges to deal with. For a lessee running their own pub it is very much a way of life and for people willing to put in the effort the rewards are limitless."

So what does David think about Belhaven?
